About us

Welcome to the Department of Physical Geography

At the Department of Physical Geography at Stockholm University our research is focused on climate change and landscape development, land- and water resources, landscape analysis, GIS, remote sensing and polar environments. We thereby investigate the field of global environmental changes, our natural environment and its interaction with human societies.

We have a long tradition of both research and education, and are largest Earth Science and Geography department in the north of Europe. We have students from all over the globe and offer advanced courses and programmes in Biology-Earth Science, Earth Science, Geography and Environmental Management.
