Department of Physical Geography at Stockholm University has signed a partnership agreement with the Eden Reforestation Projects an NGO. The Eden Projects works with poverty reduction and the restoration of important forest habitats in Madagascar. The Eden projects has worked with local communities in Madagascar since 2007 and are planting 2.2 million trees per month. Stockholm University will support the activities of the Eden Reforestation Projects through research and mapping activities including satellite-based monitoring of forest health involving researchers and students.
