Kebnekaise’s south peak continues to melt

On August 14, 2021, the southern peak of Sweden´s highest mountain Kebnekaise was measured at 2 094,6 meters above sea level by researchers at Tarfala Research Station. This is the lowest height that has been measured since the measurements started in the 1940s, and almost two meters lower than the corresponding time last year.

Award for AI for Energy and Climate Security Award to SU - KTH - University of Illinois Consortium

The award has been granted to Stockholm University researchers Zahra Kalantari, Carla Ferreira and Gia Destouni and colleagues at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for the project “Optimization of Agricultural Management for Soil Carbon Sequestration Using Deep Reinforcement Learning and Large-Scale Simulations”.
