Tarfala Research Station maintains three bare bone climate stations at higheelevation and in close proximity to glaciers of particular interest in the northern Swedish Mountains. These stations have similar equipment and are based on a Campbell Scientific CR-10 data logger and a Vaisala HUMICAP® Humidity and Temperature Probes HMP45A/D. The purpose of these stations is to monitor local temperature near the three glaciers Riukojietna, Pårteglaciären and Salajekna. The observations on Pårtetjåkko is of additional interest since observations were carried out by Axel Hamberg in the early 1900s. We have installed a pt100 temperature probe in the original shield used by Hamberg's observers to facilitate comparisons with their early measurements.
